Searching the Library Catalogue
Keyword Search (on the catalogue home page)
Allows you to find records quickly.
- Enter the keywords you would like to search on.
Tip:
- Use the title and the author surname for a more targeted search.
- Don’t include prepositions in your search e.g. the, and etc. It will reduce the number of irrelevant search results you get.
- Select the collection from the drop-down or leave as Full catalogue if you would like to see all collections.
- Enter or click the Search icon.
Advanced Search
Use Advanced Search if you have more details of the item you're looking for or if you want to search on a particular field e.g. Series Title, Publication Year or Language.

- Select your search criteria e.g. Author.
- Contains, is a phrase or an exact match of the search term.
- Add an operator to join two search terms e.g. and, not or or.
- Include additional information such as ISBN.
You also have different search options on the left-hand menu on the Advanced Search page.
