This vast transcontinental nation is home not only to its Native people and the settlers that have joined them over the centuries, but to entities much darker and more inexplicable. Since before Christopher Columbus made landfall on its shores, America’s mountains, deserts, plains and forests have been haunted by the weird and the strange.
